Are you guys familiar with “smearograms”? They’re this truther thing—composite images made up of the same one pixel-wide slice of video, arranged sequentially frame-by-frame. (So while the Y axis is still a spatial reference, the X axis of the picture is now time.) I’m not positive what they’re supposed to demonstrate, but they’re gorgeous and haunting—here’s a really evocative video. They sort of remind me of these Gerhard Richter paintings, actually.
I had not seen these, but they are the logical extension of other truther video work—usually overlays of footage to draw out disparities as evidence of post-production in no-plane theories.
